How do I connect ChatGPT or Claude?

Connect in ChatGPT

Before the public directory listing is published, you can connect through ChatGPT developer mode. Availability depends on your ChatGPT account and workspace settings.

1. In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode under Settings → Security and login.
2. In Plugins, select + and enter a name and description for the connection. Choose a public MCP server and enter https://www.gestel.studio/api/mcp as its URL.
3. Create the connection and review the discovered tools. When prompted to sign in and consent, confirm the GESTEL account and access.
4. Select GESTEL in a new conversation and ask to see your products.

If the menus or availability change, follow OpenAI's current connection guide. A developer-mode connection is separate from a public directory listing.

Connect in Claude

You can add the same MCP server URL as a custom connector. On an individual account, go to Customize → Connectors → + → Add custom connector. A Claude Free account can add one custom connector. On Team or Enterprise, an organization owner must add the connector first; each member then connects and enables it for a conversation. Claude's current guide has the steps for each account type.

Connector availability in Claude does not grant GESTEL access. The connected GESTEL account still needs Starter access or higher. The photo-attachment cards verified in ChatGPT may appear differently in Claude.

Your first product and shoot

• Choose a saved product, or attach 1–4 photos and ask to register them as one product. Registration and product reading cost no credits. Put the main photo first.
• Ask for a priced preview after registering the product. If you used ChatGPT's product picker, name the product in your direct chat request; selecting a tile alone does not open a preview. In ChatGPT, the confirmation card shows what will be made and the credit cost; selecting Shoot submits the paid request. In a host without that card, review the price and explicitly ask it to submit the request only when you are ready. A direct MCP caller can submit a paid request through the tool API.
• A request supports 1–4 photos or 1–2 short silent clips. To make five photos, confirm separate requests for four and one.
• Find finished results on the card and in GESTEL Assets. Use the card's download control when shown.

If connection or results fail

• The wrong GESTEL account is connected: In GESTEL, go to Settings → Account → Connected apps, disconnect that app, then reconnect with the intended email. Signing out of the browser alone does not revoke the app connection.
• Access is unavailable: Check the connected GESTEL account and its entitlement. A ChatGPT or Claude subscription does not replace GESTEL access.
• An attachment cannot be read: Its original link may have expired. Attach the same photo again. Do not invent a file URL or ID.
• There are not enough credits: Read the required and available amounts in the refusal. Some outputs in a batch may already have started, so check the original request first. If none started, you can request a fresh preview and confirm it separately.
• A card stops updating or the response is lost: Ask the app to check the status of the original request first. Include its request ID if shown. Do not create a new ID to repeat an already submitted shoot. Work that started on the server may continue after automatic status checks stop.
• An old card reopens: Its price and balance are historical. A new shoot needs a new preview and confirmation. Recover completed results by checking the original request.

Disconnecting stops new GESTEL tool requests. Work already started may still finish. Disconnecting does not erase results the app already received. If you remain stuck, email hello@gestel.studio with the connected account email and the visible error. Do not send your password or connection token.
