How do I make my first shot?

Upload a product photo, then say what you want in one line. GESTEL shows you a shoot plan first and only shoots once you have seen it — usually 1–2 minutes to the first shot. You do not need to write a good prompt: “clean white background” is a complete instruction, and anything missing GESTEL asks about. If you have no product photo yet, there are sample products you can shoot instead.

1. Upload a product photo

Drag it onto the box in the middle of the home page, or use the clip button. Paste (⌘V) works too.

  • One project takes up to 6 product photos. One is enough; several angles are more accurate.
  • Up to 12 MB per photo.
  • You can start with no photo at all. The canvas opens with ten sample products. Shoot one and you will see exactly how this works.

Which photos should I upload? covers what makes a good one.

2. Say what you want

Plain language in the input box. This much is enough:

  • “Five shots for a product page”
  • “Styled, summery”
  • “White cutout for a marketplace thumbnail”

If you would rather not decide, pick one of the suggested sets on the first screen.

When something genuinely changes the shoot — whether you want a model, which marketplace this is for — GESTEL asks rather than guessing. If you would rather not answer, “just decide for me” is one of the options, and it will.

3. Confirm the plan

Before anything is shot you get how many shots, in which scenes. This step matters: changing your mind here is free, and changing it after the shoot costs credits again.

If the plan is wrong, say so. “Drop the third one, make it held-in-hand instead” is enough.

4. Collect the shots

Cards appear on the canvas and fill in as each shot finishes.

  • Credits are deducted when a job starts, not when it finishes. Anything that fails comes back automatically.
  • Download from the card's menu, or select several and take them at once.
  • To change a shot, select it and say what to change — “just brighter” is enough. The selected shot appears as a chip on the input box, so you can see what you are editing.

Next time

If you will shoot this product again, save it as a product. It stays on your account, ready to pull into any project, and it remembers the label text and the size along with the photos.

Frequently asked

How many shots come at once?
Usually 4–8. The exact number is in the shoot plan, and the number beside the generate button is what it will cost.
How long does it take?
20–40 seconds per shot, and shots run in parallel — five shots is still 1–2 minutes. Anything with no answer after 20 minutes is treated as failed and refunded.
Can I stop a shoot half way?
Press stop under the conversation. Shots already started will finish; anything not yet started is never made and never charged.
Can I generate scenes without a product photo?
You can, but it is not what GESTEL is good at. It is built to put your product into other scenes. With no product to hand, try a sample product first.
