Making shots

Can I use what I make commercially?

·3 min read

On this page

Yes, and that includes the free plan. Photos and clips made with GESTEL can be used in advertising, on product pages, as marketplace thumbnails and on social media. You do not need to label them or tell us. If you cancel, everything you made up to that point stays usable — what you made is yours. What you do need to check is that the source photos you upload are genuinely yours; problems that start there are not ones we can carry for you.

Where you can use it

There is no restriction. People use it for:

  • Their own store and marketplace product pages
  • Marketplace thumbnails
  • Instagram, Facebook and YouTube advertising
  • Catalogues, brochures and print
  • In-store displays

What a plan changes is how much you can make, not where you can use it.

After you cancel

Cancelling does not revoke anything. Everything you made stays usable — no taking a product page down, no pausing an ad campaign.

You simply cannot make more.

What you need to check

This is the part we cannot carry for you, so it is worth stating plainly.

  • The photos you upload must be yours. Output built from someone else's product photography, another brand's ad creative, or an image pulled off the internet is not something we can stand behind.
  • The product should be one you sell. Shooting another brand's product as if it were yours is a trademark problem.
  • Do not depict what isn't true. Implying a benefit or a contents that does not exist can breach advertising law. GESTEL changes the scene rather than the product, but which scene you choose is your call as the seller.
  • People in shots are not real people. They are generated, so do not present them as genuine reviewers or customers.

What we do not do

  • We do not use your shots in our own marketing. The images on our home page are ones we have permission to show.
  • We do not show your shots to anyone else.
  • We do not claim rights over what you make.

Do I have to disclose that it's AI?

There is no general legal labelling requirement yet. Individual platforms do have their own policies — Instagram and Facebook, for example, sometimes attach an AI label automatically. It is worth checking the policy wherever you are posting.

The full terms are on the terms page.

Frequently asked

Can I really sell work made with free credits?
Yes. Commercial use has been open on the free plan since September 2026. Earlier terms said paid plans only; that has changed.
Who holds the copyright?
You are free to use what you make. We do not claim rights over it.
Can I sell or transfer the images themselves?
The assumption is that you are using them to sell your own product. Reselling the shots themselves as stock is a different thing — email us first if that is what you have in mind.
Can I upload a competitor's product photo as a reference?
Referencing a scene or a mood is fine; shooting their product and using it is not. It has to be the product you sell.
