How do I add and correct a product?

On this page
Save a product once and it stays on your account, ready for any project. When you save it, GESTEL reads the photos and records the name, size, material and label text. That read is free, and you get a white-background shot out of it as well. If it read something wrong, correct that field on the product screen — your corrections survive a re-read. Add more photos and press re-read and it takes the new ones into account.
Three ways to add one
They all end up in the same place.
- From the product screen — Products in the left menu, then upload.
- From the canvas — right-click a photo or a shot and choose save as product.
- From the assets drawer — assets → products → add product.
A product remembers up to 4 real photos. The first becomes the main one, so lead with your best.
What happens when you add one
- GESTEL reads the photos. Around 30 seconds.
- It records the name, type, size, colour, material, and the text printed on the label.
- It generates one white-background shot, which becomes the product's face in lists. No credits.
None of this costs credits. Saving a product is always free.
If one photo appears to hold two products, it asks whether to split them. Choose split and each is saved separately; choose keep as one and it stays a set. It asks — it never splits on its own.
When it reads something wrong
Correct that field on the product screen. Each field is separate.
- Your correction wins. A re-read leaves anything you edited by hand alone.
- Fields you left alone get refreshed. Only untouched fields take the newly read value.
- Your name is never overwritten. Once you have named a product, GESTEL will not re-name it.
Label text matters most. GESTEL reproduces it verbatim in generated shots, so a typo there appears in every shot.
Adding photos later
Add them on the product screen and press re-read. More angles means fewer invented surfaces.
You can also give each photo a role — which is the main shot, which is a detail — and shoots will reference them accordingly.
Deleting
Delete on the product screen. It disappears from the list and from pickers in new projects. On a canvas that was already using it, the card stays and is badged deleted product, so that project's history does not turn into a blank.
Shots you already made are unaffected.
Sample products
Anything badged sample product is a shared product we provide. Anyone can shoot them, but they cannot be renamed or deleted, because everyone is looking at the same row.
