What happens when I cancel?

Cancel any time in Settings → Subscription — the same place you signed up, in the same number of steps. You do not need to contact us and you are not asked for a reason. Cancelling stops the next payment, and you keep the plan until the period you already paid for ends. Cancelling an annual term partway through refunds the remaining days, calculated daily, with no penalty. Work you made while on a paid plan stays yours to use commercially after you cancel.
Where to cancel
Go to Settings → Subscription and press Cancel subscription. One confirmation, and that is all.
If Polar processes your payments, cancellation happens in the Polar customer portal — the link in Settings → Subscription takes you there. If you are still billed through LemonSqueezy from the previous GESTEL, cancel in the LemonSqueezy portal; that link is in the same place.
What you keep
| After cancelling | |
|---|---|
| Your current plan | yours until the paid period ends |
| Work you have made | stays |
| Commercial use | work made on a paid plan stays usable commercially |
| Remaining credits | whatever is left expires at the end of the period you paid for; no new grants after that |
| Account and projects | stay — cancelling is not deleting your account |
You can restart before the period ends if you change your mind.
Cancelling an annual term partway through
We refund the portion of the annual amount corresponding to the remaining days, calculated daily, with no penalty. Only the time you actually used is deducted, pro rata.
So if you paid for Pro annually and cancel around five months in, the remaining days come back. If you used only the first month and left the rest, we do not later bill you the difference. This applies to annual plans paid with Korean cards exactly as it does to any other.
To receive the refund, email hello@gestel.studio after cancelling. We confirm the amount and return it to your original payment method within 3 business days.
Refunds on credits
Within 7 days of payment you can be refunded for credits you have not yet used. Credits are not cash — they cannot be transferred or exchanged for anything else.
After 7 days, spent credits cannot be reversed. Credits spent on a generation that failed always come back automatically, at any time. If your balance looks wrong, start with the usage history section of How are credits counted?.
Cancelling is not the same as deleting your account
Cancelling stops payment. Deleting your account removes it.
Deletion is in Settings → Account. It permanently removes your projects and everything on their canvases, your brand kits, and any remaining credits — this cannot be undone. An active subscription stops renewing and the stored card is removed. Payment records are retained for 5 years as Korean e-commerce law requires; beyond that, your name and email are left nowhere.
If you want to stop paying but keep what you made, choose cancel.
