How do I pick a plan, and who processes the payment?

There are four plans — Free, Starter, Pro and Ultra — and what a plan decides is how many credits you get each month. Photos and video both come out of those credits. The payment processor is not something you choose: accounts in Korea are billed through Toss, everyone else through Polar. That rail is fixed once a subscription starts and cannot be changed — switching means cancelling and starting again. Billing can be monthly or annual, and annual gives you twelve months for the price of ten.

The four plans

PlanCredits / monthIn default photosPrice
Free75about 15$0
Starter1,200about 60$7
Pro4,000about 200$20
Ultra14,000about 700$70

USD prices are exclusive of any sales tax Polar adds as merchant of record. Free's credits arrive every month, like every other plan's allowance. What the credits buy in default clips is in How are credits counted?.

The plan does not change what kinds of shots you can make. It changes the volume, and these:

  • No watermark on paid plans.
  • Commercial use — everything you make, on the free plan included, may be used in advertising, in sales and on product pages. See Can I use what I make commercially?.
  • Priority — paid work does not queue behind the free tier.
  • Credits expire — monthly credits last one month, and whatever is unused expires. See How are credits counted?.

Two payment rails: Toss and Polar

Subscriptions started in Korea are processed by Toss; everywhere else by Polar. We determine which, and it is shown at checkout.

This is the part worth reading twice. The rail is fixed per subscription. A subscription started on Toss cannot later be moved to Polar, or the other way round, and travelling or changing cards does not change it. If you genuinely need to switch, the only route is to cancel and start a new subscription afterwards.

Both rails grant identical credits. Only the price differs.

If you had an older GESTEL subscription

If you were paying through LemonSqueezy on the previous GESTEL, that subscription continues untouched. You are not re-charged and your plan does not change.

It cannot be modified here, though. Settings → Subscription offers exactly one control for it: a Cancel subscription link to the LemonSqueezy portal. To change plans, cancel the LemonSqueezy subscription first; afterwards you can start a new plan here on Toss or Polar.

Monthly and annual

Annual gives you twelve months for the price of ten. Credits still arrive monthly — only the payment is annual, so the rhythm of using it is unchanged.

Cancelling an annual term partway through refunds the unused portion, calculated daily. See What happens when I cancel?.

Changing plans

  • Moving up takes effect today: the new plan is charged, a new month starts immediately, and credits are granted for the difference between the plans. Days remaining on the old plan are not refunded or carried over, so changing closer to your renewal date wastes less.
  • Moving down never takes back credits already granted.

Both are in Settings → Subscription.

Frequently asked

Can't I choose the payment processor myself?
No — it is determined for you, and cannot be changed after the subscription starts. Check which one appears at checkout before your first payment.
Can I get an invoice or a tax receipt?
On Toss, receipts are in Settings → Subscription under your payment history. On Polar, invoices download from the Polar customer portal. If you need a Korean 세금계산서 with business details, email hello@gestel.studio.
Where do I change my card?
Settings → Subscription for Toss, the Polar customer portal for Polar, and the LemonSqueezy portal if you are still billed there.
If a payment fails, am I cut off immediately?
No. We retry a few times over several days and your plan stays active meanwhile. Adding a working card resumes it.
Is there an enterprise plan?
We arrange those individually. Email hello@gestel.studio with the volume you need.
