What does GESTEL actually do?
·3 min read
GESTEL is a product photography tool for people who sell things online. Upload one photo of your product — a phone snapshot is fine — and it produces shots and 5-second clips you can put straight onto a product page, an ad or a social feed. No studio, no model booking, and no prompt engineering: say what you want in plain language and GESTEL plans the shoot, shows you the plan, and then shoots it. The free plan gives you 75 credits (about 15 default photos) every month, so you can try it without a card.
What it makes
- Product page shots — white-background cutouts, styled scenes, on-model shots, marketplace thumbnails. The set of shots one product page needs.
- Product clips — 5-second video. Made for the slot at the top of a product page or a social feed, and built by animating a still you already have rather than inventing a scene from nothing.
- Fixes to shots you already made — select a shot and say “brighter background”. It edits that shot rather than starting over.
How you use it
- Upload a product photo. One front-on phone photo is enough to start.
- Say what you want. “Five shots for a product page” works; so does picking one of the suggested sets.
- GESTEL shows you the shoot plan first — how many shots, in what scenes. Read it, and change anything you do not like before a single credit is spent.
- Finished shots stack up as cards on the canvas. Pick the ones you want and download them.
The step-by-step version is in How do I make my first shot?.
What it does not do
Worth being straight about.
- It does not invent your product. GESTEL reads what you uploaded and treats the label text, the size and the material as facts. What changes is the scene, not the thing. See Why don't the labels change?.
- It does not make long video. Clips are 5 seconds by default, because that is what product page slots and social feeds use.
- It is not a design editor. Adding text or building a banner is not what this is. Take the shots and lay them out wherever you already do that.
What it costs
The free plan gives you 75 credits every month — about 15 default photos; video starts on the paid plans. No card required, and it refills each month.
After that you pick a plan. Customers in Korea are billed through Toss, everyone else through Polar. See How do I choose a plan, and where does payment go?.
